Deborah Barrett Price serves on the faculty of Denison University teaching viola, violin and chamber music and is a Yamaha Certified String Educator Clinician. In recognition of her work as the Founder and Artistic Director of CMC, Debbie received the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory 2013 Alumni Achievement Award and was named the Columbus Symphony Orchestra Community Educator of the Year (2004). She is a 2014 Nominee for the OAC Governor’s Awards and has received commendations from the Ohio State Senate and Ohio House of Representatives. As director of CMC Italia, Debbie performed chamber repertoire and conducted the CMC Italia Chamber orchestra in Bonefro and Rome, Italy including a performance at Italy’s esteemed Santa Cecilia Conservatory. In past seasons, Debbie has directed tours and performances in Salzburg, Vienna, and the Czech Republic. She has also directed many local projects, such as the CMC Jazz and Improv workshop, the New American Music Project, and CMC Conservatory Series and Residencies with advanced CMC students and guest artists, including members of the Cavani, Cleveland, Guarneri, St. Lawrence, Fry Street, Jupiter, Cypress and Ying String Quartets as well as the Claremont Trio and Trio Cavatina.
