Virtual Audition Seminar

The Cincinnati Young Artists is pleased to offer the Virtual Audition Seminar. This 4 week program takes place in July and is for college-aged and pre-professional cellists looking to jump-start their preparation for orchestra auditions through weekly excerpt class, private lessons and mock auditions for members of Admissions at the New World Symphony and prominent conductors. Many orchestras had to postpone scheduled auditions due to the pandemic. Be ready when those auditions are rescheduled!

The program will be led by Alan Rafferty, CYA Artistic Director. In addition to his position as a member of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Rafferty is on the cello faculty of the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music where he also teaches the Orchestral Repertoire class. His students have won positions in full time orchestras and festivals around the world.
